Creamy, rich, and packed with flavor, this Marry Me Chicken Recipe is the perfect easy dinner for busy weeknights or special occasions. Tender chicken is simmered in a creamy Parmesan sun-dried tomato sauce that’s irresistible.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts – Lightly pounded for even cooking.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil – For searing the chicken.
  • 1 tablespoon butter – Adds rich flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt – Enhances overall taste.
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper – Freshly ground for seasoning.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder – Adds savory depth.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning – Classic herb blend.

For the Creamy Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced – Fresh garlic provides bold flavor.
  • ¾ cup chicken broth – Forms the base of the sauce.
  • 1 cup heavy cream – Creates a silky, rich texture.
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese – Melts into the sauce beautifully.
  • ½ cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes – Adds sweetness and tanginess.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon paprika – Adds mild warmth and color.
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) – For a slight kick.
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Optional Garnishes

  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Chopped parsley
  • Extra Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet.
  3. Sear the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden; remove and set aside.
  4. Melt butter in the same skillet and sauté the minced garlic.
  5. Add chicken broth and scrape the browned bits from the pan.
  6. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, Italian seasoning, paprika, and optional red pepper flakes.
  7. Simmer until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.
  8. Return the chicken to the skillet and coat it with the sauce.
  9. Simmer for 8–10 minutes until the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  10. Garnish with fresh basil, parsley, and extra Parmesan, then serve hot with your favorite side dish.

Notes

  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts much better than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving to keep it juicy.
  • The sauce thickens as it cools, so serve immediately for the best texture.
