  • 1 cup water – Balances the acidity.
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar – Adds mild sweetness and balances the vinegar.
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt – Essential for seasoning and preserving.
  • 3 garlic cloves, smashed – Adds bold savory flavor.
  • 2 teaspoons dill seeds or 45 fresh dill sprigs – Classic pickle seasoning.
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns – Adds gentle spice.
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds – Gives subtle tangy flavor.
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) – For a spicy kick.
